Helped start a new process and integration

Verizon had been using outside Design shops but did not have many in-house UX designers. Not all the shops they sourced did full UX testing. Most of the testing if it was done was done after development and the code going live.

  • 1st Project Manager hired to help create UX internal division to perform UI testing before and with Development work
  • Worked with operations to provide support information and evangelize department, integration into SDLC and cost savings
  • After pilot company decided to purchase UX company and permanently integrate in-House

UX design process into SDLC and vice versa

Initiate a new process to the company and integrate and make development teams familiar with how to utilize UX and make them part of the software dev process.

  • Make sure Devs, IT and Stakeholder were all part of UX design reviews and process before dev work
  • Oversee requirement gathering, story creation working with BAs and Devs
  • Setting up design sprints ahead of time in concert with dev sprints and company releases
  • Overseeing and participate in release roadmap meetings and corporate reporting
  • Working with analytics and tagging teams to obtain data and tag events and flows for KPIs and metrics values.
  • Daily stand ups and agile ceremonies

Managing UX teams and projects

UX work was first focused on the consumer facing projects. Later the UX teams scope was expanded to the internal business needs such as support call center platforms, service alerts received on phones.
